Kelsey Wang is a Chinese-American actress best known for her roles as Daisy Kwan on General Hospital and Allie Nguyen on The Young and the Restless. She has appeared in TV shows, theater productions, and independent projects, building a steady career in the entertainment industry.
Early Life and Education
Kelsey Wang was born in Beijing, China, and spent her early childhood in China and Singapore. When she was seven years old, she moved to the United States and grew up in Dallas, Texas.
For high school, she attended Culver Academies, a boarding school in Indiana. She earned a scholarship on her own after seeing an advertisement and applying. At Culver, she discovered her love for acting and joined theater programs. She also attended the Yale School of Drama’s summer program while still in high school.
After graduation, Wang planned to study acting in New York, but she chose Duke University because she received a full scholarship. She majored in economics, but she stayed involved in acting and even joined an exchange program with USC, which allowed her to spend a semester in Los Angeles.
Career
After finishing college, Kelsey Wang moved to New York City. She worked in investment banking while going to auditions. Her first big opportunity came in the theater. She was cast in the U.S. premiere of Chimerica, playing the role of Liuli. In 2016, she starred as Daiyu in the play A Dream of Red Pavilions.
Wang later moved to Los Angeles and appeared in TV shows like Daredevil and the pilot episode of Journey to the East.
Breakthrough Roles
In 2018, Wang joined the cast of General Hospital as Daisy Kwan, a recurring character. She stayed on the show until 2020.
After taking a short break during the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned to acting and booked her biggest role yet — Allie Nguyen on The Young and the Restless. She made her first appearance in March 2022 and stayed on the show until April 2023. She had actually appeared on the show once before as an extra back in 2011.
In 2024, Wang also appeared in an episode of Magnum P.I. as Helen Yu.

In November 2024, she married Max Gordon in a wedding held in Haleʻiwa, Hawaii.
