Wayde Sims died in a shooting near Southern University. According to the Baton Rouge police, Sims was rushed to a nearby hospital and died of an apparent gunshot wound shortly after his arrival. An autopsy Friday determined Sims died of a gunshot to the head that traveled into his neck, said Baton Rouge Coroner Dr. Beau Clark.
