Sylvester Stallone, in full Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone, (born July 6, 1946, New York, New York, U.S.), American actor, screenwriter, and director who was perhaps best known for creating and starring in the Rocky and Rambo film series, which made him an icon in the action genre.

According to some sources, Stallone was born at a charity hospital in the Hell’s Kitchen area of New York City. He was born with the lower side of his face paralyzed as the obstetricians tried to use a pair of forceps to pull him out of his mother’s womb. This seriously severed a nerve that caused a permanent deformity in the lower parts of his lip, tongue, and chin that caused him a droopy left eyelid and a speech impediment. 

Stallone was born on 6th July 1946 in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City, New York, the United States to Frank Stallone, Sr. and Jacqueline Stallone, his parents. His nationality is American. His full name is Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone. Talking about his siblings, he has one brother named Frank Stallone who is an actor and musician. His ethnicity is mixed and his zodiac sign is Cancer. As a child, his days were not good enough as he faced a nerve and caused paralysis in parts of his face during his birth. Regarding his education, he attended Notre Dame Academy as well as Lincoln High School in Philadelphia and Charlotte Hall Military Academy. Then, he joined Miami Dade College and the University of Miami.

He played the titular character of ‘Rocky Balboa’ in the ‘Rocky’ series from 1975 to 2006, which is considered one of his most legendary roles. This helped Stallone kick-start his career in Hollywood. The ‘Rocky’ film became so popular that it spawned five other ‘Rocky’ films in the franchise. was 10 times Oscar nominee and eventually won the award for ‘Best Picture’. After that, he appeared in some, directed some and even wrote several films like Rebel, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Farewell, My Lovely, Capone, Rocky, and Death Race from 1972 to 2000. he gained worldwide fame with his starring role in the smash hit Rocky in 1976 which was nominated for ten Academy Awards, including Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay nominations for Stallone. The film eventually won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Directing, and Best Film Editing. As for his directorial career, he debuted and starred in the 1978 film Paradise Alley. He then starred in Norman Jewison's F.I.S.T.  He wrote, directed and starred in the sequel to his 1976 hit, Rocky II in 1979. He also appeared in First Blood in 1982, Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1985 followed by its sequel Rambo III in 1988, and Rambo in 2008. After that, he wrote, directed, and starred in two more 1980s sequels to the series: Rocky III in 1982, and Rocky IV in 1985. He starred in many movies including getting Carter, Driven, Avenging Angel0, D-Tox, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Taxi 3 and more. He wrote, directed and starred in the ensemble action film The Expendables in the year 2010 which was released on 13th August 2010. A sequel, The Expendables 2 was released on 17th August 2012.  He starred in the action film Bullet to the Head and Escape Plan in the year 2013. The Expendables 3 was released on 15th August 2014. In 2015, Stallone reprised his role as Rocky Balboa in a spin-off-sequel film, Creed. He then appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as Stakar Ogord / Starhawk in the year 2017. He also co-starred in Escape Plan 2: Hades in the year 2018. Creed II went into production in March 2018, with a scheduled release on Thanksgiving 2018. From September 2018 he began filming for Rambo V: Last Blood which is scheduled for a fall 2019 release.

In 1979, he won the ShoWest Convention Award for ‘Star of the Year’. He earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in 1984. In 1997, he was presented the Stockholm International Film Festival Award for ‘Best Actor’ for ‘Cop Land’. In 2004, he won the Golden Camera Award for ‘Best International Actor’. He was honored with the ‘Golden Eye for Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Zurich Film Festival. He was presented with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Hollywood Film Festival in 2010.
