Rahul Gandhi is an Indian Politician from a family of political significance,” Nehru-Gandhi family. He is the president of the Indian National Congress and also serves as the chairperson of the Indian Youth Congress and the National Students Union of India. On 11 December 2017, Rahul was elected as the President of the Indian National Congress.
Rahul Gandhi was born in a Hindu Dattatreya family and identifies himself as a Kashmiri Brahmin. He is the son of Late Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India and Italy-born Sonia Gandhi, former UPA President. Rahul is the grandson of Indira Gandhi and Feroze Gandhi. His paternal uncle, Late Sanjay Gandhi, was also a politician. His aunt, Maneka Gandhi, and cousin, Varun Gandhi, are leading politicians in the Bhartiya Janta Party. He is an elder brother to Priyanka Vadra who is married to Robert Vadra (a businessman). • He was also charged for the corruptions in the National Herald Case.
• During the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, he had to regret over his comment about Prime Minister Narendra Modi that "even the Supreme Court
has accepted that Chowkidar Chor Hai."
Beyond politcs, Gandhi is associated with Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Trust and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. Also, he runs a non-profit eye care provider in Uttar Pradesh.
Prior to politics, Rahul Gandhi worked at the Monitor Group, a management consulting firm, in London. (1996) and later, he was appointed as one of the directors of Mumbai-based technology outsourcing firm Backops Services Private Ltd.(2002).
