Rachin Ravindra began his international career with New Zealand's Under-19 squad, participating in the 2016 and 2018 Under-19 World Cups. His standout performances in the 2018 edition earned him recognition as the rising star of the squad by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In the domestic circuit, he made his List A and first-class debuts for New Zealand A, and he achieved his first centuries in both formats in the 2019–20 season. He continued to impress, earning contracts with Wellington for the 2020–21 and 2021–22 seasons. 

His journey took a significant turn when he was named in New Zealand's Test, T20I, and ODI squads, making his T20I debut in September 2021 and Test debut in November 2021 against India.
