Prince Royce was born on May 11, 1989, in the Bronx, New York, United States. He was raised in The Bronx, New York City. Prince Royce belongs to North American nationality. He is the second oldest child amongst four children born to his father, Ramón Rojas who drove a taxicab and his mother, Ángela de León, who worked at a beauty salon, both of Dominican origin. He belongs to white ethnicity and the Taurus zodiac sign. He attended elementary school.
Prince Royce started his music career alongside with a partner named José Chusán, also known as "Jino" forming a duo "Jino and Royce, El Dúo Real" at the age of fifteen. A year later, he adopted the stage name “Prince Royce” and began making music with his friend and record producer Donzell Rodríguez, and Vincent Outerbridge, known together as "L Snipe & Vinny". At the age of nineteen, producer Andrés Hidalgo became his manager and supported him to make bachata music which he had been focusing on since few years prior. He was introduced to record producer Sergio George by his manager who signed Royce to his record label, Top Stop Music, as soon as he listened to three of Royce’s demos.
He recorded his first album “Prince Royce” in 2009 and published on March 2, 2010, which gave him the 15th position on the Latin albums of billboard’s chart in the United States. A bachata version on the song “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King also the main song of the album granted him the first position in the tropical songs and Latin tropical airplay of billboard’s charts in the United States and the eighth position on the hot Latin songs list of the same magazine.
His second album, Phase II (2012), containing songs in English and Spanish, contained the song “The Little Things”, which reached the top of the list of tropical music on the billboard and later led the billboard’s hot Latin songs leading the album to succeed as it was one of the best-selling albums on iTunes.
His third album, Soy el Mismo(2013), contained the songDarte un Biso, which turned out to be one of his most popular songs. On his fourth album, Double Vision (2015), he released the track Stuck on a Feeling featuring Snoop Doggy Dogg which made a great amount of success as it made into number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100. Later in early 2017, he would release his fifth album, Five which would be, once again the number one album on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in the US after his first three albums and eventually his sixth album, Alter Ego (2020).
Despite the fact rumors romantically linked Royce to actress Emeraude Toubia since 2011. It was only 2016 when the singer/songwriter publicly confirmed their relationship. After being engaged for more than a year, the couple got married officially on November 30, 2018, and had a ceremony in San Miguel, Mexico.
