Peter Fonda was an American actor, director, and screenwriter. He was the son of Henry Fonda, younger brother of Jane Fonda, and father of Bridger Fonda.

He directed and starred in 1971 Western film, The Hired Hand. In 1973, he directed science fiction film Idaho Transfer. The film received mixed reviews upon its limited release. In 1974. he starred alongside Susan George in the film Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry in 1974, a film about two NASCAR hopefuls who execute a supermarket heist to finance their jump into big-time auto racing. In 1997, his career took another massive turn with the release of Ulee's Gold, where he played the role of a beekeeper father of a convict son. His performance received universal acclaim and Fonda came into limelight once again as he received an academy award nomination for his role. He kept working in different films such as 3:10 to Yuma and Wild Hogs. Most of his earlier films, which were ignored earlier were re-released and started gaining a cult following especially The Hired Hand. He was slowly gaining an iconic status as he kept working in films like Japan and The Runner in the more recent years.
