She made her breakthrough after she reached the final of the Kremlin Cup, becoming the first Arab player to reach a final on the WTA Tour in 2018. Jabeur stayed in the top 100 the entire year of 2019. In the year 2020, she entered the Australian Open and upset 12th seed Johanna Konta in straight sets. After beating Caroline Garcia in the second round, she upset Caroline Wozniacki in the third round in what turned out to be the last match of Wozniacki's career. After beating Wang Qiang in the 4th round in straight sets, she reached the quarterfinals for the first time and became the first Arab and African woman to make a Grand Slam quarterfinal.<
