James Comey is an American lawyer. He was the 7th director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 2013 selected by President Barack Obama until his dismissal by President Donald Trump in May 2017.
He was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York from January 2002 to December 2003, and the United States deputy attorney general from December 2003 to August 2005 in the administration of President George W. Bush.
He also became general counsel at Bridgewater Associates, based in Westport, Connecticut, and a senior research scholar and Hertog fellow on national security law at Columbia Law School. He is known for his highly controversial role in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

James Comey was born on 14th December 1960 in Yonkers, New York, the U.S.A. Born as James Brien Comey Jr. to parents J. Brien Comey and Joan Marie Comey, he was raised in Allendale, New Jersey, and attended Northern Highlands Regional High School. Later James enrolled at the College of William and Mary and graduated in 1982 majoring in chemistry and religion.
In 1985, he received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Chicago Law School. His father worked in corporate real estate and his mother was a computer consultant and homemaker. He has got two younger brothers named Peter Comey and Christopher Comey and an older sister named Patricia Comey.

Comey is a married man. His wife's name is Patrice Failor. Comey and Failor met for the first time at a daiquiri party while he was attending the University of Chicago in early 1985. Failor supported Comey in winning the dorm election and since then their relationship continued throughout their time as undergraduates.
After years of romance and affair, the duo finally got married on July 25, 1987. Now, the couple is blessed with five children including four daughters named Maurene Comey, Claire Comey, Abby Comey, Kate Comey, and one son, Brien Comey. Their other son named Collin Comay died in infancy.
