Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Greek professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association. He possesses the athleticism and ball-handling skills of a guard, giving rise to his nickname the Greek Freak. He has received three All-Star selections and led the Eastern-Conference in voting in 2019.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was born on December 6, 1994, in Athens, Greece. He holds Greek nationality and belongs to Greek-Nigerian ethnicity. He grew up in the Athens neighborhood of Sepolia. He started playing basketball in 2007. In 2009, he was playing competitively for the youth squad of Filathlitikos. He joined the senior men's team of Filathlitikos in 2011.
