Deborra Hope was a former journalist, anchor, and producer for Vancouver Global TV owned-and-operated station CHAN-DT. She was with that station since 1981 when it was known as BCTV, then a CTV affiliate.
For two generations Deb Hope was one of the most iconic faces in B.C. and the most celebrated TV Anchor of British Columbia, Canada.
Hope hosted the Early News at 5 p.m. and the 'InSight' segment of the News Hour at 6 until she retired in March 2014 after announcing she would be stepping down.
She retired from Global News BC at the age of 59 in 2014 after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. After her retirement, she lived in Vancouver and enjoyed spending time with her family and doing leisurely activities.
