Amit Ranghat started his boxing after inspiration from his brother in 2007. He later trained under Anil Dhankar at Sir Chhoturam Boxing Academy. After several years of training, he debuts his boxing career through National Boxing Championship in 2017 where he won a Gold Medal. After that, he was selected for the 2017 Asian Amateur Boxing Championship where he grabbed the Bronze Medal in the light flyweight category. He later fought several matches where he got a Gold Medal at Strandzha Cup in 2018, a Silver Medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the light flyweight category, a Gold Medal at Asian Boxing Championship 2019, a Silver Medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championship in 52 kg category, a Gold Medal at Boxing World Cup 2020, Bronze Medal at Governor's Cup 2021 in 52 kg category.
Besides his victory, he was defeated several times which taught him to win the next battle. He also qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 52 kg category and reached the quarterfinal. During his career, he was honored with several awards like Best Boxer Award (2011-12), Haryana Gaurav Award (2019). He was also nominated for the Arjuna Award in 2018.
